Climate-ABC: Annual Balance Sheet CO2

Climate balances indicate the total amount of carbon dioxide emissions caused by certain activities or by certain actors.

These balance sheets play a major role in the current political debate. Be it the CO² balance of states, companies, vehicles or private individuals. So a too high balance can result in a driving ban or in the future a higher taxation.
A goal of the Federal Government is a climatic annual balance of 1 ton CO ² per person, per year. In 2018 the per capita consumption in Germany was 10.4 tons on average (EU average for comparison: 8.4). The Federal Environmental Agency provides a CO² calculator, with which the calculation of a personal climate balance is possible. Go, give it a try! Link: https://uba.co2-rechner.de/de_DE/
